Since 2013, the Sedena already contemplated the creation of the Cyberspace Operations Centeraccording to an information response that can be consulted in the Transparency Platform.
At the request of a citizen, Sedena reported that the project would be developed in three phases:
First: to be held in 2016 and at a cost of 1,087 million 542,347 pesos.
Second: to materialize in 2017 with an investment of 135 million 613,146 pesos.
Third: to be held in 2018 with a budget of 135 million 613,146 pesos.
The total cost of the three phases would reach 1,567 million 171,623 pesos, as projected.
However, the Cyberspace Operations Center did not run as planned. In 2016, no equipment was provided and in 2017 no budget was approved. It was until this administration that it was resumed.
In 2020 this project was included in the portfolio of Investment programs and projects of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit for which more than 500 million pesos were requested.
“It consists of the acquisition of technological platforms through which cyber-intelligence capabilities are enabled, specialization of human resources and to develop research and development activities in the fourth dimension of operations called cyberspace”, explain project description .
Between 2020 and 2021, 340 million 491,578 pesos were exercised and for this year 213 million 133,013 pesos, giving a total of 553 million 624,591 pesos.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 1,455 million 232, 843 pesos: of which 553 million 624,591 were for the installation and 901 million 608, 252 pesos for maintenance and operation.
