Legislator Luis Alegría: The appointment of Dimitri Senmache in EsSalud is an "affront to Congress"

Legislator Luis Alegría (People’s Force) considered it an “affront to Congress” that the former Minister of the Interior Dimitri Senmache had been appointed to a high position in the Social Security of Health (EsSalud), after having been censured by that power of the State.

In statements to Canal N, he indicated that Senmache is a “recycling part” because the Interior sector, in which he worked, has nothing to do with health.

“It is impressive what this Government continues to do. That is a piece of recycling. It is an affront to Congress that a censored minister in a portfolio that has nothing to do with the Health portfolio, can be appointed today as a senior official of a system that needs to ensure the health of all Peruvians “he expressed.

In this sense, Alegría said that the Executive Branch headed by President Pedro Castillo “does not have replacement capacity” and he wondered if perhaps it is a strategy to confront Congress or in reality he does not have technicians for the state apparatus.

“What we are clear about is that this government unfortunately does not have a replacement capacity. There is no opportunity within the Executive to have people who can be used as pieces to only be able to replace the censored ministers”he underlined.

“Is this done as a political strategy to start confronting Congress or is it because the government really does not have technicians who can perform a laudable role in the state apparatus?”he added.

As recalled, the former Minister of the Interior Dimitri Senmache He was appointed in the Directorate of the Central Management of the Elderly Person and the Person with a Disability of EsSalud.

Through a resolution signed by the executive president of said entity, Gino Dávila, the Central Manager of People Management was also authorized to sign the Senmache contract under the labor regime of private activity.

“It is resolved to appoint Mr. Dimitri Nicolás Senmache Artola as of today in the position of general manager, Executive level 2 of the General Management of the Elderly Person and the Person with a Disability of EsSalud”the document reads.

With this appointment in EsSalud, it was also determined to terminate the appointment of Tania Rodas Malca, who had been serving in the position since December 30, 2021.

As you remember, last June 30, Senmache was censured by Congress by blaming him for the escape of fugitive former minister Juan Silva and the unsuccessful search for Bruno Pacheco, former secretary general of the Government Palace, and Fray Vásquez, nephew of President Pedro Castillo.
