Santiago. In the midst of a call to the authorities to impose greater control of the border and repatriate the undocumented, the remains of landowner Juan José Soto Corniel are exposed.
Soto Corniel, 71, murdered last Sunday along with the engineer Arelis Maritza Ovalles Ureña and the employee Gilberto Antonio Basilio Toribio, is veiled at the Blandino funeral home in Santiago and this Thursday he will be buried in the March 30 cemetery.
His friends and compadres define Soto Corniel as a hard-working man, dedicated to his family and who dedicated several years of his life to giving talks to the group Los Herméticos both nationally and in other nations.
So far, the authorities have no clues about the whereabouts of the Haitian Adolfo Fiseme (Blanco), accused of the triple crime, despite the fact that the incident occurred last Sunday.
border control
“It is necessary to remove the immigrants who are doing so much damage and who are relentless when they commit these acts, because they have no feelings or values. President Luis Abinader must put more control both on the border and with those who are here so that another situation like this one that we are all lamenting today does not happen again,” said Arelis Veras, a friend of the family.
Veras highlighted the relationship he had with his wife Ingrid de Soto and as a father with his children Juan José Soto and Ana María Soto.
Jorge Hilario, friend for more than five decades and compadre of Soto Corniel, describes him as a generous, fair person, with a very big heart, who was a very loved person in the Rancho Manuel de Estero Hondo community in Villa Isabela de Puerto Plata. . The farm was inherited from his father, so he wanted to keep it running.
They ask the authorities to arrest the murderer
Federico Gómez, cousin of Soto Corniel’s wife, describes him as a citizen with exemplary behavior. Both Gómez and Jorge Hilario demand that justice be done and that Adolfo Fiseme be arrested.
The funeral home was also attended by employees of the Grupo Estrella company where one of his sons works to show solidarity with the relatives.
