In the last twelve months to September, inflation is close to double digits, well above the target range established by the Central Bank of Uruguay of between 3 and 7%.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the CPI for September registered a variation of 9.95% in the last twelve months, the highest value so far this year.
In August, inflation stood at 9.53%; in July 9.65%; in June inflation was 9.29%; in May it was 9.37%; in April it stood at 9.37%; in March, 9.38; in February it was 8.85%; and in January 8.15%, the lowest value so far in 2022.

According to the INE, the monthly variation of the CPI comes from the following divisions: “Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages” (0.63), “Housing” (0.04), “Health” (0.06), “Transport ” (-0.04) and, “Restaurants and hotels” (0.07).
