Juliaca: credit analyst goes out to collect debt from a delinquent client and appears dead in the river

A young credit analyst was kidnapped, handcuffed and murdered after going to the house of a delinquent client, from whom she went to collect the money that he had requested from a cooperative in the city of Juliaca, Puno region.

Is about Vanesa Bernedo Miranda (31), who disappeared on the afternoon of September 29 during his work hours. That day, the victim went to collect a debt on his motorcycle and then did not return to his workplace.

Relatives and friends of the woman began a search the following days, however, it was only on October 4 that her helmet and gloves were found, which had been abandoned under a bridge located on Av. Modesto Borda.

After the discovery of these objects, the police investigated the last steps of the victim and learned that she disappeared after going to the client’s home Jhony Ivan Mendoza Amanque (33).

Finding of the corpse

The next day, early on October 5, agents found the lifeless body of Vanessa Bernedo abandoned near the banks of the Coata River, at the height of the Churi bridge. The corpse had been handcuffed, gagged and had several cuts.

Police officers immediately seized Jhony Mendoza as the main suspect and his partner, Gricelia González Andaluz, who would also be implicated in the crime. Local media reported that both detainees are hardware entrepreneurs.

At a press conference, PNP Colonel Marcial Flores Huamán, head of the Criminal Investigation Division in Puno, indicated that John Mendoza He confessed to being the author of the murder.

“This person has committed the act with premeditation, treachery and advantage, for this he gathered all the necessary elements to commit this homicide (…) The motive for the facts was for the payment of a debt because the victim went out to collect and meet with this person (Yhony Mendoza). It is in these circumstances that she is kidnapped and killed, the debt was 8,000 soles ”he pointed.

The police authority added that the person involved did not pay any sum of money in relation to the loan. “That is why the mobile comes as a result of non-payment of the debt (…) The investigation is for aggravated femicide because apparently it is known that there would be an alleged romantic relationship with the victim. The author has confessed in detail how he has committed the criminal act and we are in the process of investigating, his wife would be implicated “he added.
