This Wednesday, the Minister of Popular Power for Transport, Ramon Velasquez Araguayanfiled a complaint for acts of defamation against female pilots of the airline Conviasa.
“Today we made a formal complaint to the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saabdemanding justice for the pilots Andrea Palacios and Jasmín Acosta, who after executing the first flight manned by women, have been victims of non-pecuniary damage, defamation and insult”, explained the minister on his social media account.
The former pilot, José Luis Puerta, who was responsible for the malicious comment, said that the pilots were not professionally trained to pilot an aircraft of great importance to international civil aviation.
The document was delivered personally by the minister and the victims. The request to the Public Ministry asks to initiate the investigations and determine the responsibilities of those who acted against the national aviation professionals.
The pilot Andrea Palacios and the co-pilot Jasmín Acosta, led on September 16, for the first time in the history of national aeronautics, a flight manned only by women from Venezuela.
Palacios is also the captain who, when she turned 27, became the youngest female pilot in Latin America, reported AVN.
The air professionals directed the Embraer E190 plane of the flag carrier Conviasa, bound for Porlamar-Maiquetía.
