To offer a better service and encourage financial inclusionthe agro-industrial company Hortifrut Peru exactly one year ago implemented its Payment Center, an initiative that allows workers to make Bank operations in a practical and safe way.
In this way, the blueberry exporting company leads the implementation of the multibank model, which has been meeting expectations and providing better welfare to more than 8,000 workers who work in the blueberry harvest.
“Our initiative represents the first multi-bank model and has its origin in the closeness of the needs of our workers and the understanding of the limitations of traditional banking to reach the areas where we are, which is why it led us to create a new model of inclusion financial and attention to the worker”, highlighted Eduardo Watson, CFO of Hortifrut Peru.
The Central de Pagos currently operates in the Plaza de Armas de Chao, in the province of Virú, La Libertad, and provides banking services with ease and without wasting much time. Among the operations carried out by the workers are: collection of their salaries, payments, remittances and deposits, among other operations.
“To develop this great project, we explored the available technology, the banks’ decentralized service models, and decided to articulate a disruptive solution among several actors that has been taken up with great satisfaction by our workers. The Payment Center represents a great step for the company and the agribusiness community, and responds to the organization’s commitment to our workers and their families”, highlighted Eduardo Watson, CFO of Hortifrut Peru.
Multi-bank attention
The financial entities that serve the Hortifrut Payment Center are those affiliated with Kasnet (Financiera Confianza, Scotiabank, Caja Trujillo), Interbank and Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP). Likewise, constant work is being done to continue incorporating the service of other financial entities and/or optimizing the services to serve more workers.
Service at the multibank Payment Center is exclusively for the workers of this company and payment is made personally. To do this, you must carry the photocheck and bring the debit card from the bank, cashier or financial institution. Also, workers who are enrolled in the preferential care program (such as pregnant women) must carry their specialized card.
Attention at the Hortifrut Payment Center is from Wednesday to Saturday, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Sundays from 8:00 am to noon. It should be noted that in this establishment debit cards are not delivered, if the worker does not have one, it is requested from his bank or finance company. Likewise, it is important to highlight that it does not charge any commission to workers for using the services of the Payment Center implemented in the Plaza de Armas de Chao.
