The Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) reported that the entity’s technicians are working on cleaning the intake and raw water inlet channel of the San Bartolo River, to continue providing the service in sectors of the Puerto Armuelles corregimiento.
They detail that the constant rains during the past weekend caused strong flooding in the tributary and severe damage to the retaining wall, dragging part of the structure downstream.
Also, the high levels of turbidity recorded in recent days paralyzed the plant, to avoid damage to the production system of the water treatment plant.
They indicate that a water distribution operation is kept in operation by means of tank cars in hospital centers, educational centers and other points of the corregimiento as a palliative.
