With the aim of responding to the increase in demand, Azul Líneas Aéreas reinforces its commitment to the country. The Brazilian airline announced the start of three new routes to connect Montevideo with the cities of Foz de Iguazú, Florianópolis and Recife.
As reported by the company in a press release, the announcement is the result of the joint work of the airline with Aeropuertos Uruguay and the Ministry of Tourism within their work to continue promoting air connectivity in Uruguay.
The tickets for these new routes —which will start operating on a regular basis in November—, are now available through all the company’s service and sales channels.
“We invested in strengthening our presence in Uruguay because in recent times we have seen the demand of our clients grow for more destinations. Our national and international network continues to grow and we will continue to analyze ways to further strengthen our connection with Uruguay,” said Vitor Silva, general manager of routes for Azul Líneas Aéreas Brasileiras.

Recife–Montevideo
The route will be weekly and will operate on Sundays, from November 20. Later will increase its frequency by adding another flight on Wednesdays, a change that will take place from December 21. The frequencies will be operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft, with capacity for up to 174 passengers.
Foz do Iguacu – Montevideo
The flights They will begin operating on December 20 with two weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. For this new route, Embraer jets were selected, with 118 seats.
Florianopolis – Montevideo
With departures wednesday and sundayflights between these two cities They will start operating on December 21. This new route will be operated by new generation Embraer E2 jets, with 136 seats.
