Samuel Doria Medina, businessman and opposition politician, questioned that due to pressure from sectors the Executive has backtracked in the implementation of the vaccination card, whose validity was postponed until January 26.

“There is a very wrong idea of ​​representative democracy. Certain sectors believe that the authorities are there to obey what they think, not to govern. They do not accept any action that has not been consulted with them. And the MAS government supports them instead of putting a limit on them, “said the politician.

Doria Medina expressed her wish that the Government, after taking a step back, not file the request for the vaccination card. “It would be a shame if some pro-government groups avoid the common good for the country,” he said.

The businessman alluded to the municipal governments that have implemented curfews at an early hour in the afternoon.

“It seems that they have not learned the lessons of the pandemic. Stopping the economy only complicates things. There are vaccines to protect yourself. The authorities must concentrate on promoting vaccination, on supporting the measures that demanded vaccination and not harming hundreds of businesses and tens of thousands of workers, ”he said.
