On the other hand, 903 facilities suffered damage, of which 22 correspond to wholesale warehouses. While 871 retail units were affected, of which 520 warehouses.
According to their statements, as an alternative, premises have been adapted to carry out the function of these warehouses and work is being done to repair some of them.
The official pointed out that in Pinar del Río the delivery of children’s milk has been prioritized, which has already concluded, and the commercialization of rice, other grains and sugar has begun. Although it has not been possible to distribute the oil “due to problems in the flowmeter, equipment that only works with electricity.”
Despite this situation, Betsy Díaz Velázquez asked the Cubans to remain calm, because “all the supplies of the basket are in the country.”
