Carabineros personnel are looking for a subject accused of setting fire to a public transport bus in the Pedro Aguirre Cerda commune.
According to police information, during the night of last Tuesday a vehicle from the RED system of route 108 was heading east. At that moment, a passenger began to spray an accelerant liquid on the floor of the bus.
The driver, realizing the situation, stopped driving and opened the doors so that the other passengers could get off the machine and evacuate in a timely manner. After this, the subject set fire to the bus, which resulted in irreparable damage.
This was reported by the lieutenant of the Santiago Occidente prefecture, Fernando Hormazábal.
“One of the passengers who was traveling on this bus suddenly began to spray accelerating liquid on the floor of the bus, where the driver of the mobile, realizing this action, quickly stopped the vehicle, managing to open the doors of the machine so that the passengers can descend. Once all the passengers were able to descend, the aggressor lights a fire,” he said.
By order of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Carabineros Criminalistics Laboratory carried out the corresponding investigations to find the whereabouts of the suspect.
