Asqueta’s stance
The Director General of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Miguel Asqueta, told EL ECO that the Minister (of Industry, Miguel Paganini), and the Undersecretary (Walter Verri) have spoken on the “current issue of the tobacco decree”; he therefore declined to comment.

The Carmelite, representative of the National Party, Dr. Asqueta, has been trained against smoking, and due to his professionalism on this issue, he represented the Tabaré government within and outside borders.
