The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that thanks to the analysis of 921 samples carried out until midnight on Monday, October 3, a new case of COVID-19a figure that had not been recorded since the first reports on the pandemic in March 2020.
The most recent part The agency points out that there were no deaths related to the disease on the day, so the 8,530 deaths since the start of the pandemic remain, as well as the case fatality rate of 0.77%.

Currently, 69 people are admitted, 44 of them suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus, while the number of confirmed active people was set at 25.
The new case corresponds to a male patient under 20 years of age, contact of a confirmed case and resident in the municipality of Majibacoa, in the province of Las Tunas.
The Minsap also confirmed that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain. It also transpired that only one medical discharge was granted on the day and that at this time no patient receives care in intensive care units.
