A hailstorm hit Highway BR-040, (Rio-Juiz de Fora), in the stretch of Areal, at km 50, near the toll plaza, this afternoon (4th). Due to the large amount of hailstones, the concessionaire Concer, which manages the highway, closed the road in both directions, as a precaution, for about 15 minutes.
The hail also hit Estrada União e Indústria, in the town known as Sete Casas. Despite the slippery roads, the dealership did not record any accidents. Drivers traveled at reduced speed due to poor visibility.
The concessionaire informed that now at night it rains in some parts of the Petrópolis and Teresópolis mountains, but vehicle traffic flows normally.
