The Judiciary evaluates this Tuesday the resource of the defense of the sister-in-law of peter castle, Yenifer Paredesand the mayor of Anguía, José Nenil Medina, against the order that imposed 30 months of preventive detention for the alleged crime of criminal organization and money laundering.
At the hearing, the appeal of the Public Ministry will also be evaluated, which insists that the measure should not have been 30 months but 36 months of preventive detention.
At the end of August, Judge Johnny Gómez, of the Third Preparatory Investigation Court, issued the measure after determining that the budgets for Paredes and Medina to face the investigation in prison were met.
Yenifer Paredes, Pedro Castillo’s sister-in-law raised by the presidential couple as their daughter, is serving a 30-month preventive detention order while she is being investigated for the alleged crimes of criminal organization and money laundering.
At the sentencing hearing, the judge, Judge Gómez Balboa, stated that there are sufficient elements of conviction to presume that Yenifer Paredes, using her ties to high-ranking officials, “would have captured mayors.”
