Santo Domingo.-Inhabitants of the street “C” of the Isabelita expansion in Santo Domingo Este, they demand the asphalting of a section of about 20 meters of the aforementioned road, which has been in disrepair for a long time and when it was finally going to be solved, ironically a neighbor violently opposed the asphalting, alleging that the sewers had to be cleaned first and the engineer in charge apparently chickened out and didn’t do the job.
As part of an asphalting program carried out by the Ministry of Public Works in the Isabelita expansion, the problem was going to be solved last Friday, September 30, but Mr. Domingo Mercedes, owner of an apartment building in front of the damaged space, reacted violently saying that they had to kill him to pave that there, because first they had to clean the filters, since the area floods every time it rains.
“Domingo is a solo, the community is more and it affects us, because in front of his house there is no problem, we can not let a single people prevail,” said the neighbors.
Without taking the problem into account, the engineer in charge, whose name could not be obtained, preferred to leave the problem unsolved, apparently fearing being attacked by Mr. Domingo, and used the asphalt in another space of the same street, whose work by the way did not finish, just in front of the sector’s detachment.
Later, a community leader announced that the engineer had promised him that she would return this Monday to do the work, however, the neighbors remained in the air waiting for the situation to be resolved, and they ask that their claim be addressed, since several streets in the sector are being paved and this cannot be the exception due to its poor condition.
In addition, they complain that the small stretch of street is now worse, because the workers, while preparing the land to be paved, dug a hole, which they had to put a hole in with sticks and sticks, as a form of warning and thus prevent a vehicle or citizen falls into it.
