Tension rises in the dairy sectorafter a new crossing of communiqués, prepared this time by the union and the chamber that brings together the companiesall related to the conflict that occurs in the company Fritran SA (distributor of Conaprole frozen products).
This Sunday the Federation of Dairy Industry Workers (FTIL) released a statement in which it sets out the resolutions adopted in the workers’ plenary held on Friday, September 30:
- Carry out agitation days and mobilizations in front of the Fritran plant (on the way to Colman) this Monday 3 at 7 am and in front of the Conaprole plant this Thursday 6 at 11 am.
- Start the work measure to regulation as of Tuesday 11.
- Ratify the 24-hour national strike throughout the industry for Thursday the 13th.
Among several considerations, the union stated: “Once again the employer returns to blow up the collective bargaining practically in a scenario of mockery of all the parties involved since not even he himself respects their positions and proposals”.

For its part, the Chamber of the Dairy Industry of Uruguay (CILU) this Monday conveyed to public opinion the opinion of the business sector on this whole situation.
In the document, he describes “absolutely unfair and abusive” union attitude“given that any negotiation/solution to the conflict is completely outside our management”, considering that the company Fritran “is not a dairy industry, therefore it does not belong to the same chapter of activity and is not a member of the chamber”.
In addition, consider that “Only 45 days after a very good sectoral agreement was signed in the Salary Council, and in the middle of the harvest, this conflict is at odds with the spirit of working in peace that has been sought in this area”.
