Argentine soccer player Gonzalo Higuaín announced on Monday his retirement from professional soccer at the age of 34. The attacker thus says goodbye to almost two decades in the elite that end with a final stage defending the colors of Inter Miami in the MLS.
The attacker, born in France but of Argentine nationality, made his professional debut in the 2004/2005 season with River Plate, a team in which he played for three seasons before making the leap to European football. The striker crossed the pond to wear the Real Madrid shirt, a club in which he stayed for seven seasons and then changed his mind, ending up in Italy.
In the neighboring country he formed in the ranks of Naples, Juventus, Milan and again Juventus (after a brief stint at Chelsea). After completing the 2019/20 season with the ‘Vecchia Signora’ he crossed the pond again, this time landing in North America, specifically at Inter Miami, where he has put an end to his career.
