The Business Confidence Index (ICE), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) rises 0.8 point of August for September this year. As a result, the indicator reached 101.5 points, on a scale from 0 to 200 points, the highest level since August 2021 (102.5 points).
The rise in confidence was driven by improved perceptions of the current situation and expectations for the coming months. The Present Business Situation Index rose 0.7 points to 102 points, the highest level since June 2013.
The Expectations Index (EI-E) rose 1 point and reached 100.1 points, the highest level since October 2021 (100.3 points).
The Business Confidence Index (ICE) consolidates the confidence indices of the four sectors covered by the Business Surveys produced by FGV IBRE: Industry, Services, Commerce and Construction.
Confidence rose in three of the four sectors that make up the ICE. The exception was the industry, which retreated 0.8 point. The biggest increase was observed in construction (3.5 points). Then come trade (2.4 points) and services (1 point).
