The authorities in Somalia confirmed the death of at least 25 peopleincluding a regional minister, after the attack with two car bombs attributed the jihadist group Al Shabab, against a military base in the city of Beledweyne, as reported to Efe.
“25 dead and 35 injured after two explosions hit Lamagalay military base,” Beledweyne police commander Mohamed Geele said.
It is worth mentioning that most of the dead are civilians and among them are the Minister of Health of Hirshabelle State (where the city is), Zakaria Mohammed Ahmed; the deputy governor of the Hiran region (included in Hirshabelle), Abukar Maadey; several local legislators and members of the security forces.

After the attacks, another 35 people were injured and are being treated in different healthcare centers dand the town of Beledweyne.
