Evo and deputies pressure Arce to change cabinet

From former president Evo Morales, through legislators Héctor Arce and Daniel Rojas, social organizations of the MAS – the last one that joined was the Csutcb – pressure President Luis Arce to make changes in his cabinet on January 22, when it will be fulfilled. the anniversary of the plurinational state. The first to propose a renewal in the cabinet was Morales, during the meeting on December 30, 2021 with the Six Federations of the Tropic of Cochabamba. “It is important that Brother Lucho improve his cabinet,” said the ex-president that day. The following day, December 31, the deputy of the Movement Toward Socialism (MAS), Daniel Rojas, pointed out that “there are parasitic ministers,” and then asked Arce to “improve” his cabinet.

“There are ministers who are parasites because they do not accompany the management of our President, they are only sitting in his chair commanding, not even giving solutions,” Rojas told Compañera radio.

And on January 2, Deputy Arce revealed that five ministers, including the Minister of Justice, Iván Lima, and the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, were observed at the MAS year-end meeting.

Unity Pact met

Yesterday a first evaluative meeting was held between the Unity Pact, President Luis Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca in La Paz. At the meeting was the executive of the Confederación Sindical Única de Trabajadores Campesinos de Bolivia (Csutcb), Ever Rojas, who announced the list of seven ministers that in the opinion of that organization should be changed.

The ministers censored by the peasants are that of Justice, Iván Lima; of Government, Eduardo del Castillo; of the Presidency, Marianela Prada; of Health, Jeyson Auza; of the Environment and Water, Juan Santos; of Rural Development and Lands, Remy Gonzales; and of Hydrocarbons, Franklin Molina.

The vice ministers observed are that of Coordination with Social Movements, Juan Villca; the Government Management Coordination Officer, Freddy Bobaryn; and that of Communication, Gabriela Alcón.

President Arce took note of the farmers’ proposal, however, a determination has not yet been made, Esteban Alavi, executive of the Trade Union Confederation of Indigenous Intercultural Communities of Bolivia, confirmed to Página Siete. “Yes, we had a preliminary meeting, but nothing was defined ”.

On January 17 they will give an exam

Although a decision has not yet been made regarding eventual changes in the cabinet, the Unity Pact together with Arce and Choquehuanca set the final evaluation for the ministers for Monday, January 17, five days before January 22, the day of the Plurinational state.

“There will be a national meeting on January 17th. That day, the ministers will give a report to the organizations and they will assess. Then a decision will be made, ”said Alavi.

Asked the leader about the approach that the interculturalists will take, Alavi limited himself to indicating: “The reports of the ministers will be received first and based on this, determinations will be made,” he insisted. The Unity Pact is also made up of the Bartolinas Sisas, Conamaq ayllus and indigenous people from the East.
