O No Censorship this Monday (3) welcomes actress, writer and director Beth Goulart. In the chat with presenter Marina Machado, she talks about her career and the art of representation. Also topics of conversation are the loss of her parents and the launch of the book she wrote in honor of her mother, Nicete Bruno.
Elizabeth Miessa, known by the stage name of Beth Goulart, was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in 1961, in a family of actors. She is the granddaughter of Eleonor Bruno, daughter of Paulo Goulart and Nicete Bruno and sister of Bárbara Bruno and Paulo Goulart Filho. She began her career in theater with the play “Effect of Gamma Rays on Field Daisies” in 1974. Acting alongside her sister, mother and grandmother, she was nominated for the APCA Award for Breakthrough Actress.
In teledramaturgy, he debuted in 1975 in “hello, someone there” from TV Cultura. The following year he made his first novel, “Daddy Heart”, on TV Tupi. At the station, he also participated in “we were six” and “The Right of Birth”. He debuted on TV Globo in 1980, in the cast of the soap opera “Marina”. On the channel, he also participated in “dangerous turkeys”, “The clone” and many others. She went to TV Record in 2010 and participated in the soap operas “Lifes in game”, “Victory”, “genesis” and “Promised land” – currently on the air, on TV Brazil.
He wrote and starred, in 2002, in the monologue “My Dorothea”, inspired by the letters exchanged between his grandmother Eleonor Bruno and Nelson Rodrigues, and in 2009 he wrote, acted and directed the multi-award winning show “Simply Me, Clarice Lispector”. In the cinema, he participated in “Joelma 23rd Floor”, “Carlota Joaquina”, “impossible loves” and “Nothing to lose”. In music, he recorded the single “the balloon” and disks “seeds in the air”, “passionate” and “Mantra Brazil”.
Beth Goulart is also the author of the book “Living Is An Art: Turning Pain into Words”, a tribute to the mother.
The guest debaters of this edition are Elmo Francfort, director of the Museum of TV, Radio and Cinema and coordinator of Memória ABERT, and Mário Alencar, PhD in Teledramaturgy from USP.
