Leaders of the Front of All celebrated this Sunday on social networks the advantage achieved by the candidate for president of Brazil for the Workers’ Party and former president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, over the ruling candidate, Jair Bolsonaro, in the first round of the elections.

Former President Lula da Silva won this Sunday night by more than five percentage points over President Jair Bolsonaro, but the bid for power will be defined on October 30 in a ballot, confirmed the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

The first Argentine president Alberto Fernández congratulated former Brazilian President Lula da Silva for his “victory in the first round” and sent his “sincere respect” to the people of Brazil for their “democratic expression” during this election Sunday.

“I congratulate my dear Lula for his victory in the first round and I convey my sincere respect to the people of Brazil for their deep democratic expression”, Fernández wrote on his Twitter account, and shared a photo of him shaking hands with the Brazilian candidate.

Defense Minister, Jorge Taiana described this Sunday’s election day as a “great triumph for Lula” and accompanied the congratulations with a photo of both.

In an interview for Public TV, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus pointed out that “it is fabulous” that Lula has obtained the advantage and highlighted that he is “a 76-year-old person who recovers from an enormous persecution and is once again at the head of an electoral campaign.”

Likewise, Filmus, after knowing the percentages that lead both candidates to the second round, said: “For the second round, we have to trust that Lula’s personality, which allowed him to overcome adversity, will be decisive.”

The Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, via Twitter congratulated “comrade Lula for such a restorative victory” and noted that his victory “multiplies hope in Latin America and shows that love overcomes hate, that peoples never stop loving those who defend them and that fighting is worth it.”

Along the same lines, the head of the Territorial Development and Habitat portfolio, JJorge Ferraresi also congratulated Lula “for this long-awaited victory” and expressed through the same social network: “The people of Brazil and the entire region needed hope to continue militating for a popular victory.”

The Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta, recalled: “You were imprisoned and proscribed but the people elected you again. Congratulations, comrade Lula. This victory once again gives Brazil and the region hope.”

and called “double our efforts so that the victory in the second round is resounding. We are with you”, assured.

Meanwhile, the head of Inadi, Victoria Donda pointed out that “Lula showed us that it is never too late to try again. With 55 million votes, today he once again taught us that the national, popular and democratic camp of the Great Homeland can defeat the haters and their spokesmen who whip across the continent”he added.

The Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, congratulated on his Twitter account “the people of Brazil for the democratic day”, and the head of the Buenos Aires cabinet of ministers, Martín Insaurralde, pointed out that “Latin America needs to return to a path of popular democracy and political sovereignty in favor of the great majorities. When the peoples achieve it, the Homeland and the entire region grow”marked on the same social network.

Also former Chancellor Felipe Solá gave his opinion: “The peoples do not go bankrupt. The fight continues. Come on, Lula. Strength Brazil.”

For his part, the national deputy Leandro Santoro referred to the date of the ballot: “Good things happen on October 30 in Latin America. Lula president”, he predicted

It should be remembered that the October 30, 1983, Raúl Alfonsín won the elections presidential elections in Argentina after seven years of civic-military dictatorship.

Deputy Daniel Arroyo also congratulated the PT candidate “for the victory in this first round.” and called to “redouble efforts for October 30. His return to the presidency is getting closer,” he said.

The leader of the Evita Movement and Secretary for Relations with Civil Society and Community Development of the Chief of Staff, Fernando “Chino” Navarro congratulated Lula da Silvia “for the titanic task carried out under the siege of a dirty campaign and political violence.”

“Great task of the Brazilian popular militancy in a hostile context. Brazil teaches us something,” he added.

Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and current President Jair Bolsonaro will dispute the presidency of Brazil in a second round on October 30, as confirmed today by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), which considered the vote mathematically defined with 97.07 percent of the votes counted.

At that point in the vote, the leader of the Workers’ Party (PT) obtained 47.89% of the votes, compared to 43.67% for the far-right president.
