The bus fleet in the capital of São Paulo was reinforced today (2) to guarantee voters’ access to polling places. According to SPTrans, the lines operate with about 2,000 more vehicles and a capacity equivalent to that on Saturdays.
The intercity bus lines managed by Empresa Metropolitana de Transportes Urbanos (EMTU) in the metropolitan region of São Paulo follow the Sunday schedule, with no schedule changes. There may be reinforcement if passenger demand increases.
The five lines operated by Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) operate at average intervals of ten minutes, but in case of an increase in passengers, trains will be on standby to meet demand on all lines.
The operation of Lines 4-Quatro, 5-Lilac, 8-Diamante and 9-Esmeralda, controlled by ViaMobilidade and ViaQuatro, is equivalent to the schedule on Sundays, with average intervals of ten minutes and the possibility of readjusting the fleet if necessary.
On the Metro, all lines work normally. The operation started at 4:40 am and goes until midnight. The fleets scheduled to serve passengers are the same used on ordinary Saturdays and Sundays, with reserve trains being able to start operating.
