A closing activity was carried out for the first edition of the “Fund For More”, aimed at financing initiatives that reinforce the network of popular pots and picnic areas. The event took place this week in the community headquarters building and included a workshop, the projection of a video and the opening of an exhibition of the initiatives carried out. The mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, the director of the Department of Social Development, Mercedes Clara, and members of the 43 projects that received funding in the first edition of this fund participated in the closing.
The community leader expressed the “enormous joy” of receiving the project participants. «I am not going to talk about your work because you are the ones who know, first-hand, what your commitment and sacrifice is, that your relationship with the neighborhoods is much more than giving a plate of food. They are setting an example of dignity.” highlighted.
Cosse added that the Administration “will always accompany them, because we are convinced that the State must be the shield of the weakest. With the ABC plan We learned, working with pots and popular picnic areas, that in addition to food we could do more things. Within our possibilities we will always try to give more and learn with you. The mayor referred to the members of the projects as “an example for all of Montevideo” and anticipated that a new edition of the fund will be made.
