The City of Buenos Aires announced the opening of three new vaccinations in schools and the expansion of three sites, which will allow “accelerating the application of booster doses with 36,000 additional weekly shifts, in the context of the health emergency due to the coronavirus.
“In addition, from today the DetectAR of the Colón Theater reopened, tomorrow 7 Mobile Units will be added and on Monday a new center will begin to operate in Chacarita”added a statement from the Buenos Aires government.
More than a year after the start of the Vaccination Plan, “more than 6 million vaccines have already been applied and an average of 22 thousand doses are provided every day. Currently, more than 92% of Buenos Aires have at least one dose; 86% have the second dose, and 22% already have the booster dose, “added the official statement.
The Buenos Aires government also indicated that, in accordance with what was defined by the national government, in the City the booster doses are applied after an interval of four months with respect to the second component.
During January, he added, all the people who have met that deadline will be contacted and given the corresponding turn.
Vaccinations in CABA
With this objective in mind, on Wednesday they opened “two new vaccinations at School No. 17 in Villa Devoto and School No. 4 in Caballito and, this Friday, a new center will be launched at School No. 7 in Núñez. selected based on their location and among the educational establishments that are not part of the Summer Schools program, in order to reinforce the available venues in those neighborhoods, “the statement added.
Thus, there will be 26 vaccinations distributed throughout the Buenos Aires territory. In parallel, the capacity in the centers located in the Usina del Arte, the House of the Historian and the Islamic Center will be expanded, he said.
The test sites
According to the report, in recent weeks the City of Buenos Aires gradually increased the capacity of the different devices to carry out tests: from 15,000 a day to more than 50,000 between the public and private systems.
