The optimism about the Mexican market that some technology companies corresponds to certain sectors. These are mainly those companies that base their offer on services such as cybersecurity and the cloud and those dedicated to the infrastructure that supports these technologies.
The customer relationship platform (CRM) Salesforce sees a lot of demand for business software in Mexico. refrigeration systems company stulz estimates that 2023 will be an active year for technology investment. The Argentine Integrator Global committed the investment of 90 million dollars in Mexico between 2022 and 2025.
Beyond the fact that entrepreneurs have to be optimistic about the results of their business, Ricardo Zermeño, general director of the Select consultancy, thinks that the companies consulted belong to certain verticals of the technology industry that have liquidity and the ability to add value to other companies.
Other companies, such as manufacturers and wholesale distributors, may not have the same opinion about their near future.
“These are companies that are taking advantage of growth segments, we are talking about an application software company, an infrastructure company and another exact services company,” Zermeño said in an interview.
Salesforce, Stulz and Globant are companies that are enjoying dynamic growth, have financial strength and have been less affected by problems such as shortage of inputs and by clients of specific sectors, such as the government. In addition to having sufficient liquidity and, in many cases, access to markets.
On the other hand, sectors such as wholesalers, distributors and those who are in traditional sectors of hardware they are in many cases small and medium-sized companies, with little liquidity, without access to credit and without a clear inventory, they are being more affected by the macroeconomic environment of inflation and rise in interest rates, according to Zermeño.
The good predictions of technology companies like Salesforce, Stulz and Globant is not only due to their position in the technology market. The digitization trend caused by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic continues and this causes different companies to generate demand within this sector.
“After the experience of the pandemic, where those who had not invested in technology suffered, I think there is a tendency to correct the laggards in digitization. I think there is a trend to digitize the business,” she said.
