From the underground, the president of the Potosinist Civic Committee (Comcipo), Juan Carlos Manuel, broke the silence and said that Evo Morales wants to “turn” President Luis Arce.

“We are not in the hope of being able to turn him over (take away the power of the president), it is totally false, I reiterate here that the one who wants to turn around, for us, is Mr. Evo Morales together with all his juntucha that he has, who have become accustomed to living easy, ”Manuel told Erbol, when asked what he thinks of being accused of creating an alleged coup.

He indicated that they are not on that path of removing the rulers, because it means resources that are not from the Government or the authorities, but from the population, and that the only thing they sought with their struggle is to repeal laws that threaten the people potosino.

“Rather, those who are wanting to do this, I have been seeing it on social networks, where the senator (Leonardo) Loza affirms why they are afraid that Mr. (Juan Ramón) Quintana will return. They are the ones who want to hit Mr. (Luis) Arce, and if he were smart, he wouldn’t be kneeling before Evo Morales, and he would say: I’m going to serve my people and stop fucking around, I’m going to handle this situation ( …). We ask you to stop being a puppet or a puppet of Evo Morales, “said the representative from Potosí.

The president of Comcipo, who avoided revealing where he is, criticized the police for carrying out an operation on December 9 with the raid on the civic institution. He considered that the police action was carried out simply because citizens do not agree or do not think the same as the Government.

Manuel denied the accusations against him that he was responsible for damaging a police patrol and for setting up strike groups. He also rejected that his intention was to confront the peasants who mobilized against the multisectoral strike in December.

He assured that his conscience is clear, but he rejected the accusations against him, because he considers them to be a “falsehood” organized by the Government.

He argued that he is the subject of a political persecution that, according to him, was unleashed because Comcipo was activating in the defense of Cerro Rico against mining operations above the 4,400 level and because it was promoting councils to question the electoral roll.

“We believe that this has been what really worries the Government, they do not want Bolivians to find out about the elections, whether there has been fraud or not,” said Manuel.

He revealed that at the time of the operation he was in Potosí, but had the protection of the population.

Now, Manuel stated that not even his family knows of his location, because that information could lead to him being persecuted.

Despite all this, the president of Comcipo assured that he will continue in activism, since he cannot close his eyes to what is happening in the country.

In a message to his family and the people of Potosí, Juan Carlos Manuel said that he is well.

“Brothers, children, be calm, I am fine, thank God I have found good people who are sheltering me,” he said.
