The Vice President of Ecuador, Alfredo Borrero, reported testing positive for contagion with coronavirus and it is stable, at a time when the country registers a marked increase in cases after the December holidays.
“Although we follow all the biosecurity measures, this time it was my turn. I will face this disease with the confidence of being vaccinated. The pandemic is still among us, let’s take care of ourselves and go to get vaccinated. Thank you for your support! ”He wrote Borrero on his Twitter account.
In a statement, the Vice Presidency pointed out that the president presents “mild symptoms” and stressed that Borrero has the complete guideline of vaccination and even with the booster dose.
The Vice president, a doctor by profession, is in home isolation and under medical supervision.
Ecuador registers a significant increase in contagions and on Wednesday (January 5, 2022) it added 2,837 new contagions and accumulated 557,273 positive cases of the disease during the pandemic, according to the latest epidemiological report released by the Ministry of Public Health.
