According to the National Government, these two days will be held during the months of February and August, in addition to the fact that the tax discount will only be for items with a price lower than 3 million pesos and only in national products.
Within the framework of this decision, some annoyance was generated in the Liberal party, given that according to RCN News, in that community they consider that they copied their proposals for the Day without VAT, so it bothered them that some congressmen of the Historical Pact, such as Gustavo Bolívar, took their chests for the measure.
According to RCN News, the proposal was made by the Liberals on August 23 with a proposal that indicated exactly what Minister Ocampo recently reported: “The movable tangible assets indicated in the following article are exempt from taxes on VAT sales, without the right to compensation, or return”, said the text of the Party, with the difference that the liberal proposal gave the possibility of having up to 4 days a year free of VAT”.
For that reason, today some liberal congressmen, who are a government coalition, questioned that they are not given credit: “Celebrate the decision that the Minister of Finance has taken today to accept the proposal to maintain the days without VAT in Colombia. But the Liberal Party with several comrades and with the support of the entire liberal caucus, we filed a proposal on August 23 to keep the days without VAT”.
And they added: “Today we are surprised to see that Senator Gustavo Bolívar takes credit for the work that the other colleagues do. I do want the work we congressmen do so that this reform is the least harmful to Colombians to be respected. It was a proposal of the party and supported by all”, said one of the senators of the Liberal party.
