In the midst of the tragic situation, several witnesses reported that some people took advantage of what happened to steal the belongings of several of the victims.

During the afternoon of this Tuesday, January 4, the country experienced one of the most painful road tragedies with which the year could have started. What happened in the Los Venados Tunnel on the Túnel de la Línea road that communicates to the towns of Cajamarca, In the department of Tolima, with Calarcá, in Quindío it left a balance of 8 dead, 32 injured and 18 vehicles involved.

An event that has ended up causing and generating mourning for the Orozco Monsalve family and others who were involved after a tractor-trailer ran out of brakes and crashed into several vehicles.

There were trucks, extra-load trucks, buses, a taxi, motorcycles and even private vehicles that the parents, their young children and their mother-in-law traveled in one of them.

They all died, it was the aforementioned family.

Luisa Fernanda Monsalve; her husband, Cristian Orozco; her two children, Crístopher, 6 years old, and Adrián, barely 10 months old.

The members of the Orozco Monsalve family were left inside a vehicle without being able to escape because they were imprisoned, likewise, the other two deceased at the site, who along with who died in the clinic hours later, were also family.

A whole tragedy that today not only has many loved ones of the victims in mourning, but has also revealed the sad behavior that many have when such painful situations arise.

While helping the victims, they stole their belongings

The complaint was revealed this afternoon by the Publimetro portal, where they compiled the statements of a motorcyclist who was moving around the place and was saved from being one of the victims of the accident.

According to the man in the middle of the painful event, many people instead of helping the injured, took the opportunity to take their belongings.

The media revealed that the motorized said that “many people tried to help, but others came to look and take what they could take.” “My God gave me the opportunity to be alive and tell this testimony,” he added.
