Two of the six fans of Nacional who threw stones in the last classic match they were already on the black list of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF)informed sources of the case to The Observer. The prosecution –with the collaboration of the AUF and the Ministry of the Interior– will investigate how these people entered.
One of the hypothesis is that they have entered the stadium through the roof of a house next to the stadiumand the other is that there violated police entry controlsat the door.
Three of the six fans have already been identifiedas they told The Observer prosecution sources. One of them is the one who wore a white romper.
The prosecutor in the case, Fernando Romano, told the press that “They could have entered with tickets and with other people’s identity documents” but that he still does not know, according to Telemundo (channel 12). “They entered the classic without being disabled (…) The identification cameras They would have to ensure that these people did not enter (detecting) that this face was already on the list,” he said.
The Nacional fans who threw stones were in the Abdón Porte grandstand and crossed towards the Atilio García to launch projectiles towards the Héctor Scarone grandstand where the Peñarol fans were located.
They did so after Peñarol supporters showed an inflatable chicken and a flag with the name “Washi”, alluding to a murdered Nacional fan.
The match was played last Sunday, September 4, at the Gran Parque Central in Montevideo.
