The Power of attorney rescheduled the hearing in which the request for an impediment to leave the country made by the prosecution against the first lady will be evaluated, Lilia Paredesuntil Monday, October 10.
The request for the hearing to be suspended today, September 29, came from the lawyer of Pedro Castillo’s wife, Benji Espinoza, who pointed out that he could not participate in person because he was traveling in Europe and because Paredes had chosen him to be the main lawyer who supports his defense.
The request was objected by the legal defense of Hugo Espino and by the prosecutor representing the special team against Corruption in Power, who indicated that another lawyer present at the session of another co-investigated could assume the defense.

Benji Espinoza replied by stating that they could oppose her request but they could not pretend to decide for Lilia Paredes who would assume her legal defense.
“It is Mrs. Lilia Paredes who decides and who chooses who is the lawyer who supports the hearing, not a lawyer of a co-investigated or the prosecutor”he asserted.
After several minutes of suspension of the session, Judge Raúl Justiniano accepted the request and rescheduled the hearing for October 10 at 10 am in person. He also pointed out that a warning is proposed in the case of Lilia Paredes that if Benji Espinoza is not present, this lawyer will be excluded from the process and replaced by a public defender.
This is the second rescheduling of the hearing on the impediment to leaving the country against the first lady, since the session could not be held on September 5 due to a request for recusal made by José Nenil Medina.
