The União Brasil candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Soraya Thronicke, said today (28) that, if elected, she will keep emergency aid at R$ 600. The candidate stressed that she was in favor, as a senator, of aid resources and that there are Brazilians going hungry.
“As much as I am liberal in the economy, I understand that Brazil is something apart from first world countries. We are not first world, we are walking. But yes, first of all, the population, that’s why the maintenance of the aid “, said the candidate in an interview with Jovem Pan.
Soraya Thronicke also said that the government will need to “tighten its belts” to be able to keep aid at this level, but that the country’s social situation requires attention.
“We’re going to have to take care and tighten the belts that haven’t been tightened,” he said. “The Brazilian people are hungry, yes, they are starving, now there are people digging through garbage, and that is why I am indignant,” he added.
