The mayor of Paysandú, Nicholas Oliverastated his back to President Luis Lacalle Pou this Wednesday, after the custody of the president was imputed by the Justice. “When I have had to disagree, I have disagreed. Today I bank it 100% to the president,” Olivera wrote on Twitter.
In addition, he added: “If the custody change is available, I’m here. Don’t get nervous against them.”
Olivera tweeted after Lacalle Pou was “surprised” and “bad” at the arrest of Astesiano, who was charged this Tuesday for the continued crime of assumption of marital status in real reiteration with crime of association to commit a crime and influence peddling. The custodian requested special prison conditions because where people are being held today are those who have been involved in an episode of insecurity with their children.
The Observer reported this Wednesday that the man was convicted in 2014 of fraud but he did not go to prison. He pretended to be a real estate agent and made $30,000. He offered houses showing photos of houses as if they were in Punta del Este, which were actually from Brazil.
In 2013 he was imprisoned in Las Rosas prison (Maldonado) for four months. He was then convicted of a continuing crime of fraud.
The last time the police questioned the former head of security (prior to the act of the last few hours) was in January 2022, as announced The Observer.
