The National Assembly (AN), through the Venezuela-Argentina Parliamentary Friendship Group, will form part of the Commission for Dialogue for the Malvinas, Deputy Blanca Eekhout reported on Tuesday from the headquarters of the embassy of the South American country in Venezuela.
During the act of conformation of the commission, the also president of the friendship group thanked her designation as coordinator of the instance for dialogue, for being a Latin American cause that has always been embraced by the Venezuelan people, a press release in the website of the National Assembly.
He stressed the solidarity and commitment of the Venezuelan people with Argentina, since it has been a victim of dispossession and colonialist claims, for which it continues to be a permanent struggle in defense of the identity of the territory.
He emphasized that for Venezuela the defense of Latin America and its brother peoples has been established as a principle, added to the right that Argentina has to defend its territory, the right to dialogue and that the Malvinas Islands belong to it. Likewise, he spoke of the right to peace, life and defense against the claim of being recolonized.
He clarified that such designation is made within the framework of territorial recovery and the full exercise of sovereignty, respecting the way of life of its inhabitants and in accordance with the principles of International Law.
For his part, the ambassador of the Republic of Argentina in Venezuela, Oscar Laborde, said that the purpose of the commission is to discuss the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom and the interests of the inhabitants of the Malvinas Islands. from Resolution 2065 of December 16, 1965, issued by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
He stressed that the work proposal involves the promotion of academic talks, painting of murals, communication on social networks, photographic exhibitions with a view to understanding the idea of recovering the Malvinas as a great gesture of brotherhood in the search for integration and unity. that allows us to face together, in an articulated and brotherly way, the difficult moment that the world is going through.
