Patient intelligence work by the Intelligence and Special Operations Command (CIOEC) allowed the location of a large number of weapons of war that would belong to the terrorist’s Militarized Communist Party of Peru (MPCP). Victor Quispe Palominowhich, according to police sources, were going to be used for an attack on the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem) during the Regional and Municipal Elections of 2022 on October 2.
The discovery of war material includes two rifles, three pistols and two mini machine guns. Also, explosives and initiation devices such as 40mm projection grenades and electric primers; in addition to abundant ammunition of different calibers. Dynamite and explosive fuses were also seized.

“This counter-terrorist operation with the integrated forces of the Armed Forces, the National Police and the Public Ministry allows us to prevent a terrorist attack from taking place in this area (…). This is the way in which the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru have been carrying out counter-terrorist operations incessantly and we are not going to give up,” he said. The finding occurred in the jurisdiction of the Pucacolpa district, Huanta province (Ayacucho). The authorities have commented that intelligence work is intensifying in the zones in order to avoid unfortunate events.
As it is recalled, days ago ‘José’ Quispe Palomino, leader of the Senderistas, broadcast three audios in which he calls for a boycott of the Regional and Municipal elections. Likewise, he issued death threats against Pedro Yaranga and Eddy Villarroel.
