Foreign Minister Carlos Faría pointed out that the illegal sanctions of the United States and its allies against Venezuela have failed.
“Yes, we can say at this time that (the sanctions) have failed,” said the foreign minister during an interview with a US media.
He stressed that Venezuela registers the highest economic growth in the region, despite the coercive measures against our country.
Venezuela, he said, has “the highest economic growth in the region, without a single coercive measure being removed from us and we have these very positive results that we show with great pride.”
Faría praised the resistance of the Venezuelan people to face unilateral sanctions, which have been condemned by the United Nations Organization.
“We can say that the measures did not work, our process of economic and social recovery, the political isolation to which they tried to subject President Maduro and his government also failed.”
The foreign minister is confident that the political shift to the left in the region can reactivate integration mechanisms such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) and Petrocaribe, among others.
