The hearing of precautionary measures of the governor of Potosí, Jhonny Mamani, was suspended this Wednesday for the sixth time. There are already 57 days that the procedure cannot be installed, where the house arrest of the authority is requested for the ambulance case.
On this occasion one of those involved presented a new lawyer, who argued that he needed time to learn the details of the procedure. Before, Covid-19 infections, lack of jurists, not having a large space and even the disappearance of the investigation notebook were used as excuses.
“For the sixth time it was suspended, there are already 57 days in impunity, a former adviser appeared with a new lawyer, who said he needed more time to hear the case”, informed the departmental assemblywoman Azucena Fuertes.
From August 4, Mamani is expected to be placed on guard. The Prosecutor’s Office requests his house arrest and warns of an economic damage of 1,435,000 bolivianos, equivalent to the contract compliance policy.
The accusation warns of the risk of escape and obstruction of the process, because an official of the departmental administration would have induced to regularize signatures of some of the members of the qualification commission.
The Second Court of Criminal Execution of the Imperial Villa proposed that the hearing be postponed for tomorrow, but Mamani’s defense alleged that he has a trip to the interior of the country. Now the procedure will take place on October 3.
