They seize more than 197 kilos of drugs in operations carried out in three days

In five operations carried out in three days, anti-narcotics agents managed to stop the sale of more than 197 kilos of drugsas reported by the Vice Minister of Social Defense and Controlled Substances, Jaime Mamani, through his social networks.

“NOur members of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (Felcn) continue to give us positive results in the sovereign fight against drug trafficking. Through operations carried out from September 23 to 26, in four departmentsthe seizure of 197.7 kilos of drugs (cocaine and marijuana) was achieved, thus affecting the assets of this illicit activity by more than 200,000 dollars,” the deputy minister specified.

The operations were carried out in the departments of Santa Cruz, Tarija, Cochabamba and La Paz, in some cases, the drug was seized by passengers who trafficked the substance traveling in public transport vehicles, other loads had been sent as parcels and an unusual case where a suitcase was found, the same one that was loaded with cocaine.

The first case was recorded on September 23 at 04:30, in the municipality of Parotani, Cochabamba, where 29 packages covered with packing tape were seized. lead-colored with a whitish substance, which were found in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle.

Submitted the substance to the field test was positive for cocaine hydrochloride with a total weight of 31 kilos with 440 grams. The impact on drug trafficking with this shipment was 53,448 dollars.

A second blow to drug trafficking was carried out on September 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the bus terminal of the city of Tarija, through the review of parcels from two public transport and cargo services, where 30 ovoid-shaped packages were found, lined with beige tape and transparent packaging tape in two cardboard boxes, which, when subjected to field tests, gave tested positive for marijuana.

The substance intended to be sent as a parcel was addressed to Raúl Ramos Tolay, who was apprehended by members of the Felcn at the time he tried to collect the parcel. The affectation to the patrimony of the drug traffic with this kidnapping is of 26,304 dollars.

In the department of Santa Cruz, the traffic of almost 90 kilos of cocaine was stopped, the same that was mixed with other products such as ginger flour, purple corn flour, panca chili and maca.

In this intervention executed on 2September 5 on the Bioceánica highway, at the toll in Motacucito, in the municipality of Puerto Quijarro, a public transport vehicle was intercepted in which a person was discovered identified as Abigail Oniava Égüezwho He was carrying his hand luggage and three boxes in the trunk of the vehicle containing the controlled substance.

In a fourth operation carried out by anti-narcotics agents, this time in the department of Cochabamba in the municipality of Parotani, intercepted a public transport vehicle that was traveling to Oruro, two people identified as Rodrigo Rocha Rocha (21) and Elvis Vedia Flores (21), carrying attached to his body a total of 120 capsules with characteristics of cocaine lined with black and transparent nylon.

Rocha had 37 capsules attached to his waist, while Vedia, about 13, the same ones that tested positive for cocaine when passing the field test, made a total weight of 1 kilo with 450 grams. Both were apprehended and the affectation to drug trafficking is 2,200 dollars.

And the last operation was carried out on September 26 in the city of La Paz, this time the search was made in a warehouse of a parcel service at the bus terminalwhere the presence of 41 wrappers lined with masquin tape of different colors and sizes was discovered. After opening the bags and subsequent field tests, the presence of marijuana with a total weight of 42 kilos and 960 grams was confirmed.

The parcel is in the name of a 16-year-old adolescent, who was apprehended when he went to pick up his parcel and he was placed at the disposal of the Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents, and his parents were also notified because he was a minor. Meanwhile, with this seizure it was possible to affect the narchtraffic with $34,368.
