The governor of the Lara state, Adolfo Pereira, stated that they are on alert in Barquisimeto and other cities in the state due to the rains. Inameh estimates rainfall during the day, accentuating at night
Since the afternoon of Tuesday, September 27, users on social networks reported heavy rainfall in the state of Lara that affected cities such as Barquisimeto and Carora, with the state capital being the most affected.
The rains, product of the “tail blow” left by Hurricane Ian on its path to the north of the American continent, generated heavy rainfall and electrical discharges, which caused flooding in several homes and roads in Barquisimeto; as well as causing trees to fall on several city roads and water to be reported inside facilities such as the Cathedral and the city’s Central Hospital.
The Antonio Herrera Gutiérrez stadium, the home of the Cardenales de Lara, was also damaged by the rains.

The floods in Barquisimeto, apart from the fact that the drains have already completed their useful life, the lack of maintenance and cleaning of the drains is the main cause of the collapse of #Barquisimeto.
