Balance COVID-19 reported 1,858 new cases, 3 deaths and a national positivity of 3.20%

The Ministry of Health delivered its daily report on Wednesday reporting 1,858 new cases of COVID-19, a figure that increases active cases to 10,677. PCR positivity per day is 3.2% nationwide and 3 deaths have been registered from causes associated with the virus in the last 24 hours.

According to today’s balance, 52,023 tests (PCR and antigen test) have been carried out and of the 1,858 new cases of COVID-19, 998 correspond to symptomatic people and 279 do not present symptoms. In addition, 581 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

To date, 488 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 421 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 238 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.

The regions with the highest positivity in the last week continue to be Tarapacá, La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Valparaíso, with Tarapacá having the highest incidence per 100,000 inhabitants. Likewise, six regions of the country decreased their cases in the last seven days and 8 in the last two weeks.
