Eduardo Battistini, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Interim Government of Juan Guaidó in Colombia, issued a statement through his account in Twitter in reference to the reopening of the border between Colombia and Venezuela, where he states that although the main focus that has been given is economic, in this area “there are more doubts than certainties.”
It maintains that business with the Venezuelan State requires compliance with the legal framework, especially in “international regulations against money laundering that are not complied with in Venezuela and would place both Colombian businessmen and the State at serious risk.”
Battistini calls for legal certainty, clear rules and respect to ensure that the reopening is beneficial.
