Although the damage left by the hurricane fiona on the east region have not been specified, so far, this area requires about 500 poles of power lines and 200 transformers of said system.
This was revealed by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, who explained the reasons why this amount is required in the aforementioned region of the Dominican Republic. «“Why? Because there are poles that were removed that must be replaced, and because there are others that are in poor condition that, although they work, must be replaced»he indicated.
This is part of what is needed, moreover, to restore the electrical system in the region, on which, the minister said, on Friday of next week it is expected that the 90% have electricity.

“We think that next week, at this point, on Friday, more than 90% of the eastern region should have power restored”Almonte pointed out.
The official announced that it will be next Monday when they will offer details on all the damage caused by the atmospheric phenomenon to the electrical system in the eastern region.
The official reported last Wednesday that more than 70% of the electrical circuits damaged by Hurricane Fiona in the eastern region have been restored.
This has been possible, said Almonte, thanks to a 24-hour work day in the areas affected by the atmospheric phenomenon.
The province that has been most affected by the event was La Altagracia, where the system has been restored by 30%.
