The industry created more than 6,700 registered jobs in July

The industrial sector created more than 6,700 jobs in July and has been generating registered employment for 27 consecutive months, as reported on Monday by the Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development based on data from the Center for Production Studies (CEP-XXI).

Of the 24 industrial branches, 23 created formal employment in the last yearhighlighting the increases in food (+8,690 positions), automotive (+5,500 positions), elaborated metal products (+4,831 positions), machinery (+4,109 positions), clothing (+3,963 positions), textiles (+3,838 positions) and rubber and plastic (+3,450 positions).

In addition, the recovery of industrial employment is also generalized at a territorial level since 23 of 24 provinces created industrial employment in the last year and 19 registered more industrial employment than three years ago.

In absolute terms, Buenos Aires (+27,331 jobs), Santa Fe (+7,080 jobs), Córdoba (+5,678 jobs) and Tierra del Fuego (+1,799 jobs) were the provinces that generated the most formal industrial employment in the last year, according to it was informed. While, In relative terms, those with the best performance in the last year were Tierra del Fuego (+17.5%), La Rioja (+15.9%) and Catamarca (+15.2%).

“While in Tierra del Fuego the rise is largely explained by the electronics sector, in La Rioja and Catamarca branches such as textiles, clothing and footwear stand out, which have experienced great dynamism in the last two years thanks to policies of promotion of the Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development”, it was highlighted.

Another important fact is thatThe recovery of the last biennium occurred at a faster pace in female industrial employmentwhich grew by 12.3%, above the growth of total industrial employment (+8.6%).

The Secretary of Industry and Productive Development, José Ignacio de Mendiguren, pointed out that “industrial activity is 11% above 2019, and the unemployment rate is the lowest in 7 years. We are working to sustain the level of activity while the macroeconomic variables are put in order and the data shows that the path is correct.”
