This, given that the region is “one of the most active in terms of cooperation and particularly active in health cooperation”, so it is necessary “to advance in joint regional responses”.
The head of state also requested: “double efforts to guarantee sexual and reproductive health, as well as a comprehensive approach to mental health and problematic consumption”.
The president highlighted Argentina’s mental health plan
During his conference, President He pointed out that the pandemic revealed the shortcomings of the system in terms of mental health management, which is why the Government implements various public policies to provide comprehensive care.
“In terms of mental health, we have launched a National Plan in 2021, in order to transform the mental health care system into a community-based system, integrated into the first level of care and that ensures the social inclusion of people with mental illness,” he said.
