Ministry of Health visits areas affected by Fiona, surveys needs

This Saturday and Sunday, the Ministry of Health and Social care I continue touring areas affected by Fiona in the eastern and northeastern provinces to survey needs and verify that the blinds that have returned to their homes are in adequate condition.

Meanwhile, the medical assistance work continues in the 12 mobile modules that have been installed in the municipalities: Higüey, Nagua and Sánchez’.

The Ministry of Health, Dr. Daniel Rivera, instructed the Provincial Directorates to remain vigilant and check the hospitals in the face of the threat of rain.

In the mobile centers, consultations are offered with the support of specialists in various health areas, belonging to the National Health Service and the Dr.Ramón de Lara Teaching Hospital.

The services are: general medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, cardiology, as well as vaccination, both for Covid-19, and for the basic scheme that includes measles, rubella and polio, and a mammography service.
The medical modules are properly equipped, air-conditioned and have specialized personnel and the necessary supplies to provide quality care.

Preventive actions also include: donation of mosquito nets, fumigation, among others.
