Covid-19 daily report: 4,262 new infections, 29 deaths and 14,569 active cases

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Saturday morning a new daily report on the Covid-19 pandemic. The portfolio reported that there were 4,262 new cases and 29 deaths in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases reached 14,569.

Of the 4,262 new cases of Covid-19, 2,584 correspond to symptomatic people and 570 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,108 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not reported.

New confirmed cases nationwide fell 16% in the last week, while in 14 days the drop was 39%. Meanwhile, all regions show a reduction in their cases in the last 14 days.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,603,514. Of that total, 14,569 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,518,706.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 29 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 61,046 in the country.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 46,865 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 44,944,221 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 8.54% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 10.24%.

To date, 131 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 84 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 257 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
