They seek to implement foster homes in Panama to respond to children who are victims of violence

The lawyer for the SOS Panama Children’s Villages, David Arosemena, explained this Tuesday the idea of ​​implementing new modalities of care for children who are victims of acts of violence, such as foster homes or foster families.

He stressed that they have been addressing this issue in conjunction with other organizations, including Unicef, since in Panama this would be a new experience, through a civil society organization.

He pointed out that in our country there are only 23 host families, and it is a model implemented by Senniaf.

“We want to implement this as a first phase or pilot plan in the province of Darién where we work with other modalities that we call transitional or transit houses, and we respond to migrant children or victims of violence,” said Arosemena.
